God has called every Christian to be on mission with Him. As Jesus stated in John 20:21 “…As the Father has sent Me, so send I you.” The Good News of Salvation shouldn’t be a secret. Jesus tells us all in Acts 1:8 to be actively involved in God’s mission to reconcile the world to Him. He told the disciples they would receive the Holy Spirit who would empower them to be “my witness” in Jerusalem (my community), Judea (my state or region), Samaria (my nation or neighbors of differing ethnicity), and the uttermost parts of the earth (world).” Each Christian is to discern their role in the fulfillment of the Acts 1:8 mandate.

At The Village Baptist Church we tithe 9% of our budget offerings to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention and 1% to the Palm Beach Baptist Network, A Missional Association. Each year we hold an annual Missions Month to give members the opportunity to see their mission dollars at work, but even more importantly of “Where God may be leading them to serve.” During the Mission Month emphasis members pledge above and beyond their regular tithe and offerings. Our goal for the June 01, 2010 to May 31, 2011 was to give and additional $20,000.00 to Missions.

Other Mission Efforts 2009-2010

All Pro Pastors We financially support All Pro Pastors which is an encouragement and accountability group for pastors in the state of Florida.

Brazil We have provided financial support to Gil & Rosa Lya Santhon's work in Brazil.

Christian Missions Unlimited

We have helped build CMU churches in Brazil near the Amazon river basin.

Buckets of Hope
We sent 50 filled food buckets to Haiti after last year's earthquake which allowed Haitian Pastors and their churches to meet needs in their community, build relationships with the families in their communities and share the hope of Christ through a verbal presentation of the Gospel.

Heath Evans Foundation We sent a donation to The Heath Evans Foundation which is dedicated to fostering hope and healing in the lives of children and families affected by sexual abuse.

India We have provided financial support to Christian efforts in central India.

Mission Dignity We financially support Mission Dignity which helps 2,500 retired pastors and their widows who have no retirement funds with housing, food and vital medication.

Missionary Flights International We financially support Missionary Flights International which provides logistical air transport for food, clothing and ministry efforts in the Caribbean basin.

NBC Youth We have supported the The Village Baptist Church youth group by providing gasoline money for their mission trip to Nebraska.

Palm Beach Atlantic University We have supported Palm Beach Atlantic University student mission trips to foreign countries.

South Florida Fair
We witness to fair workers and "carnies" by providing food and supplies such as clothing, blankets and personal hygiene items.

The Voice of the Martyrs We financially support missions work in the "underground church" in countries where Christianity is suppressed and in some cases illegal.

Vacation Bible
School We have provided financial support to pay for materials and food for VBC's Vacation Bible School.
