How can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:15. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). Life Application Bible, NIV.

• PK Conference – Promise Keepers held its Florida conference in Orlando July 27th and 28th , with over 7000 men in attendance at Amway Arena. It was an awesome time of praise, worship and reflection. The theme was Flood: Energizing Men of Integrity. (www.promisekeepers.org.)

• Several hundred men came forth to make first time professions of faith and to rededicate their lives to Christ. As men are impacted, Ambassadors come alongside as disciplers to encourage and challenge men toward a Christian walk and a connection to a local church. I was asked to be the Ambassador Booth Captain at the conference this year. My friend Jim and I along with several fellow Ambassadors took turns working at the booth and sharing information about the Ambassador program, and encouraging guys to sign up to become Ambassadors. After the conference, I was given a list of decision cards for follow-up. I shared them with other Florida Ambassadors and some awesome things began to happen. An Ambassador from Wildwood contacted a new brother in Christ who lived 20 miles from him, to encourage him in his walk and support him in connecting with a local church. The new believer expressed a desire to be baptized a week after the conference. The Ambassador will be in attendance to support him. What an awesome God we serve!

• Project Norman – Promise Keepers has set in place a network of Field Directors and Ambassadors. They work with local communities to mobilize men to serve, involving anything from fixing a widow’s car to feeding the homeless. The bottom line in being an Ambassador is relationship. I was asked to contact an Ambassador who had recently fallen on hard times. I contacted his wife and provided prayer support. I am in the process of mobilizing a local network of Ambassadors to provide her respite care and attend to their other stated needs. I have dubbed the labor of love, Project Norman. Those of you who live in the Miami Lakes area and who are interested in supporting me in this project, please contact me at rayt242611@bellsouth.net.

Is there an area in your life where a unique resource like a men’s conference will give you the encouragement and tools you need to press forward? Then join us on Saturday, September 22 at First Baptist Church of Tequesta. I will be conducting a seminar called How To Build A Sustainable Men’s Ministry, so please drop by.

• 2nd Annual – The Men’s Ministry at The Village Baptist Church held its second annual golf tournament and hosted a field of 26 golfers. It was a great time of fun and fellowship. During the month of September, we will begin a Bible Study called, “In His Grip, Foundations for Life and Golf.” (www.thevillagebc.com/men/men.html.)

Amen.
