About Us

The Village Baptist Church mission is "To lead people to make Jesus Christ the center of their lives." We are family, friends and neighbours who are here for you. You will find the doors open, the opportunities many and the greetings warm. Our history dates back to a group of Christian friends who founded the church on February 8, 1927 under the name Northwood Baptist Church. We subscribe to the doctrinal statements of "The Baptist Faith and Message".   We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ committed to leading people to make Jesus Christ the center of their lives."  Visit our About page to learn even more about The Village!

Sunday Mornings

Sunday Morning Bible Study starts at 9:30 am  and 10:45 am. A time of fellowship with visitors and members inside the worship center foyer beginning 10:00 am. Worship Service starts at 9:30 am and 10:45 am. Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds.

Worship Service

Webster defines "worship" as:

Worship  1. reverence or devotion for a deity; religious homage or veneration   2. extreme devotion or intense love or admiration of any kind.

Intense love and admiration! Extreme devotion! We gather together each week to worship God as a family and to express to Him our love, our thanks, and our devotion. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord together!

Our worship services blend the comfort and familiarity of traditional worship with the excitement of a contemporary worship service through both instrumental and vocal music.  The Village Baptist Choir and Praise Team lead in worship through the singing of hymns and choruses.  A variety of worship singers, soloists, and small groups bring special selections as offerings of praise to our Lord.

A typical service includes announcements, worship music, prayer and a wonderful sermon by Pastor Moody.

Sermon CD's
CD's of sermons are available to purchase by contacting our church office 561-687-0337. The sermons are also available on the Home page of The Village Baptist Church website.

What do I need to bring?

Many members and guests find that it's easier and more fulfilling to participate in Bible study when they have their own copy of the Bible with them during worship so that they can underline or highlight particular verses for later study. During worship key Bible verses will be displayed on the overhead screens for those who do not have a Bible with them and for those who carry a different translation.

If you prefer to take simple notes, an outline of each Sunday morning's Bible study is provided in the bulletin with spaces and margins for personal thoughts and references. For other Bible study times, you may prefer to bring a notepad and pen or pencil for taking notes.
